Distinguished Achievement Award

Dr. Robert Habich is the recipient of this year’s RWES Distinguished Achievement Award. Each year the Society presents the award to an outstanding scholar and leader in Emerson studies. Bob is a professor at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

Professor Habich receives his Award from RWES President Sue Dunston at the ALA conference, May 24.

He is a past president of the RWE Society, as well as a past secretary/treasurer and a former editor of the Emerson Society Papers. Bob is the author most recently of Building Their Own Waldos: Emerson’s Early Biographers and the Politics of Genre (University of Iowa Press, 2011), and he has published three other books and numerous articles about Emerson, American Romanticism and Transcendentalism, and biography. Congratulations, Bob!
